Hello, Richard Warren Families!
It is an honor to be back for my third year to USD 453! During my first two years at David Brewer, I had many interactions with parents, students, staff, and faculty. During those interactions we were able to build relationships and partnerships. One of my core foundations for education is to build strong relationships with all stakeholders! I look forward to developing new relationships and to continue establish relationships from David Brewer and I transition to Warren Middle School Assistant Principal/Activities & Athletic Director. Strong relationships need and have been built with all stakeholders involved in the education of our students. We are a team (administration, teachers, the community, parents/guardians and student) and we must work together to provide the best academic experience for our students! I look forward on continuing building those relationships and working with the faculty, sponsors, and coaches on providing a top-notch educational experience for each child!
As a product of Ulysses, KS and having a father in education, my life was touched by many classroom teachers as I grew up. Not only did they provide me a sound foundation, but they inspired me to realize that education was more than interacting with letters and numbers. My education consists of the following: B.A. in Biology from Southwestern College, M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Southwestern College, M.S. in School Leadership from Baker University. Before I came to Richard Warren Middle School, I was the assistant principal at David Brewer. Prior to that I taught high school sciences (Biology, Physical Science, Cell Biology, & Anatomy) at Shawnee Mission West High School and Arkansas City High School for 12 years.
My family consists of my lovely and beautiful wife Debbie and our two children (Karson,11 and Khloe ,6)! They are big supporters of me at home! We enjoy our time at some sort of sporting event (baseball, football, or dance). If we are not at a sporting event you can find us at home relaxing.
Over the summer, my family made the move to Leavenworth! We are excited to be here! I also worked with administration on the development of a new sport to be offered at Richard Warren Middle School. Starting for the 2017-2018 school year cross-country will be offered for 7th and 8th grade students. We hired coaches, developed a schedule, and ordered uniforms. I met with coaches and sponsors to discuss the direction of Richard Warren Activities and Athletics. You can follow me @KevinWarner_LV for all the latest activities and athletic events.
And always remember, at Richard Warren Middle School, you can choose to have a GREAT day or bad day the choice is yours!
