Richard W. Warren Middle School

Principal's Message

Hello Warren Families,
Thank you for a great week. We had an intruder drill this week and your students did well. We take practicing for our drills very seriously here at Warren. If ever you come to school during one our drills, please be patient. We will be happy to help you as soon as we are done. Just know that during our drills, we will not answer phones, be able to check students out, or answer questions. Once our drill is complete, we will be happy to assist you. Please take a moment to ask your child what you do during a fire, tornado, or intruder drill and discuss what you would do as a family if a crisis happened at home.

This week students began taking their AIMS Web Benchmark and KITE Predictive Interim Assessments in English and Math. They are working really hard and doing a great job. Even though we don’t have all of our scores back yet, we have seen some huge gains in our academics this semester. We will use these scores to determine support class schedules that will begin in January. If you have any questions about how your child is doing academically this year, please contact your child’s teacher. We love discussing the progress your children are making.

On Wednesday, December 13th our choir will have their winter concert at Leavenworth High School and we wish our Girls’ Basketball teams good luck at their tournament this week in Lawrence.

Once again thank you for having such great students and It’s a great day to be a Warren pioneer!
